In great news for the Renville Project, please note that today we have awarded the Main Works Contract to ML & S Boland Civil Engineering Ltd to undertake the Phase I development of the project. It took a lot longer than hoped to award this contract due to the volume of legal documentation required for the project and the number of parties involved, though thankfully that has all now been finalised.
ML & S Boland have extensive experience over many years in developing similar facilities to ours, such as Galway’s County Board Loughgeorge site, Na Piarsaigh GAA Grounds in Limerick, James Stephens GAA Grounds in Kilkenny, Clare GAA’s Centre of Excellence in Caherlohan and many others.
As it is not desirable to undertake the heavy groundworks required for the project in the depths of winter, it has also been agreed with the contractor that the works would start in mid January.
We look forward to working with them to complete this major and exciting development for the club and will be great to finally see Phase I commencing in earnest on site.
