COOLMEEN V KILDYSART INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH REPORT
Kildysart defeated Coolmeen in the 1st round of the Intermediate Football Championship on a score of 3 – 10 to 2 – 09
This was a high scoring entertaining game between two evenly matched sides. Coolmeen started brightly with two points from Ben Cleary which was followed by a pointed free from Cathal O’Connor. Kildysart got back into the game with points from Ger Bobby Kelly & Damian Hill. Neil O’Connor struck for the first goal soon after to give Kildysart the lead. Further points from Ger Bobby Kelly & Shane McNeilis extended the lead. Kevin Val McMahon pointed a free for Coolmeen to reduce the margin. Barry Crehan then scored Kildysart’s second goal which was followed by a pointed free from Ger Bobby Kelly before the break.

Coolmeen started the second half with a well taken goal by David Neenan to reduce the deficit. Kildysart responded with a Kieran Eyers pointed free. After a well worked move David Neenan struck for another goal for Coolmeen. This was followed by points from Cian Murphy, Cathal O’Connor & Kevin Val McMahon to give Coolmeen the lead. Kildysart now responded with another goal by Ger Bobby Kelly to retake the lead. Kieran Eyers pointed another free for Kildysart. In the frantic closing stages Cathal O’Connor scored two points for Coolmeen & Ger Bobby Kelly scored two for Kildysart. In the last action of the game Kieran Eyers pointed another free to seal the victory for Kildysart
