The clubs proud and growing tradition of providing girls for the Armagh juvenile county teams continued this afternoon with three girls from Dromintee representing the Orchard county at Under 16 level.

Alanna O’Neill, Grace Conlon and Lily McBennett all saw action in the first outing of the year for the newly announced Armagh squad.

Alanna and Lily formed a third of the forward unit against Meath in a game played in bitter cold temperatures and cutting winds at Killean.

Both registered scores as Armagh comfortably saw off the Royal challenge.

Grace for her part played in the unusual position for her of wing half back acquitting herself well before a hamstring niggle curtailed her afternoon.

Armagh who were Ulster champions at the grade last year played some very attractive football and combined well for a squad that is still finding its feet.

Grainne O’Rourke has also been included in the Armagh Minor squad for the year ahead while three of the clubs successful Under 13 championship team are still on trial at the final stage for the county Under 14 squad.

We wish all the girls well.
