The 1st team took on Na Fianna in Collinstown. Playing against the breeze in the 1st Half St Finians settled well with 2 scores in particular standing out coming from Sean Cronin. First was a point from an overhead hurley flick and then a deft overhead flick with his hand to rattle the back of the Na Fianna net. A goal was needed at that stage to cancel out the early Na Fianna goal at the other end. St Finians led by 2 points at half time and with the breeze to their back in the 2nd Half & James Shelly accurate from frees St Finians pushed into a good lead. Na Fianna did finish strongly but with the defence well led in central positions by Domo Harris (goals) , David Hattie and David Kelleher, St Finians held out for a 1-14 to 1-10 victory.
