Our Juniors played Ballinacurra on a sunny day in Rostellan last Sunday. Putting out a very young team we knew we would be up against it against the most experienced team in the league, and unfortunately that inexperience may have led to a slow start and 2 goals for the Village. To the credit of all 15 players they started to turn the game back around and never gave up until the very end. A second half of reorganising and increased work rate led to Aghada rattling off 5 unanswered scores as the visitors legs began to dwindle. Unfortunately while we got some great scores, most notably 2 40metre shots from the never ageing Davy Creedon, we never got close to that vital goal opportunity. Special note to Sean Corkery, Conor Bakx, Com White and Finn Berry who all made their debuts at adult level this year in the league. Best on the day were John Walsh, Davy Creedon and Josh Halpin.

Final Score:
Aghada 0-14 Ballinacurra 2-14

Our Junior Hurlers played Carrigtwohill last night and after a hard fought contest emerged on the right side of the result by a solitary point courtesy of a last gasp point from Matthew Leahy. This game ebbed and flowed for the full sixty minutes with both teams exchanging the lead on numerous occasions. Richie Condon did a great job at full back as he was marking a top quality player. Shane Lewis had a great game in goals making some fantastic stops and his puckouts were top quality. Pete White, Stevie O'Shea and Sean Og O'Keeffe did the world of work around the centre of the field which was complemented by the sharp shooting of Eoin Motherway, James Hurley and Jordan Halpin. All the Aghada subs made a huge difference when introduced and were crucial to Aghada collecting the 2 league points at the end of the game. Well done to all involved and a special mention to James Hurley, Callum Roberts, Sean Corkery and Ronan Devoy who all played their first adult hurling game.

Final Score:
Aghada 1-22 Carrigtwohill 3-15
