Unfortunately, Kilkenny lost out in the senior final to Limerick in 1973. Eddie Keher was one of the notable absentees due to injury.

The minor final went far better for Kilkenny and the Club. Four Rower Inistioge men lined out in the successful minor team which overcame Galway.

Pat Dunphy was in goal, John Lyng was left half forward, Pat Treacy was right corner forward, and Michael Lyng started at left corner forward (although not named to start). Pat Dunphy is missing from the programme photo as he came into the team for the final.

Just to make everyone feel old, the match programme cost 10p!!
