At the end of what has been such a historically successful year for Longwood GAA we have one final exciting announcement to make…………….
………and that is the establishment of our new juvenile committee, Bord Na nÓg, Maigh Dearmhaí.

We have an exciting juvenile club with lots of young, talented players in the pipeline.  They will all have been inspired by the exploits of our senior hurlers on their recent championship-winning voyage.  Bord Na nÓg Maigh Dearmhaí will leave no stone unturned as we endeavour to turn these little acorns into mighty oaks!

Bord Na nÓg will be spear-headed by Pádraig Barron (Juvenile Chairperson) and Edel Quinn (Juvenile Secretary).  In addition, the committee will comprise of excellence and commitment in the shape of Ollie Nicholson, Vinny Byrne, Alan Greene, Jenny Schram, Dean Keogh and Jacob Baldwin.

We are always looking for new volunteers, so if you are interested in getting involved, please email secretarybng.longwood.meath@gaa.ie or contact Pádraig or Edel.

Ní neart go cur le Chéile.

Bord Na nÓg have ambitious plans to maximise the potential of the next generation of Longwood hurlers and footballers.  Recruitment and Retention of players will be critical and Bord Na nÓg will soon be launching a new strategic plan.  And this is no New Year’s resolution.  Instead, it will be a detailed plan, setting challenging and ambitious goals and outlining how we will ensure they are achieved.

So exciting times for Longwood.  It’s our club and it belongs to all of us.  There has never been a better time to get involved.  New players will be guaranteed a warm welcome; whether it is a 4 year-old coming up to join our GAA Nursery or an adult player who has recently moved to Longwood and wants to get involved, our gates are always open.

We look forward to sharing our plans with you in the very near future.

In the meantime, we would like to wish all our young players and their families a Happy Christmas and look forward to seeing them all proudly wearing their Longwood colours on the pitch in 2025.
