As part of the club’s continuing desire to develop Ladies Gaelic Football within the club, and to build on the progress made by the team in the past five years, the club has appointed Shay Keane as its new Head Coach.

Shay is a former player with the Gers and before that he spent the guts of 20 years playing for his own home club, St Vincent’s, in North Dublin.

Shay, more recently was associated with our Junior Footballers also known as The Nua, where he galvanised the team and led them to a Championship Semi-Final and along the way dragged great crowds of support for the team.

He has a very rich GAA CV and will hopefully be able to bring this experience to our existing Ladies Group, to returning former players and of course to encouraging new players to join the group.

The club would like to thank and acknowledge all the work that the previous coaching teams have done with the Ladies over the last few years. We have won a number of promotions and now find ourselves in Division 6.

Our thanks go to Darren Holton, Dave Breslin, Dec Flood and Dave Lavelle for all their hard work and time.

If you would like to get involved and be apart of the Ladies team in 2025, please contact Caitriona on 087 7443134.

The club would like to wish Shay and the Ladies all the best for the year ahead, come on the Gers!
