The old adage that goals win games proved true in round two of the Cusack Cup (especially if you manage to score two of them in the opening minute) as Miltown emerged winners from a visit to Kildysart. Micheal Murray & Cian Mahony were the men who found the back of the net early on to give Miltown the perfect start , however the home side recovered quickly and kept the scoreboard ticing along as they reeled in the Miltown lead. Points from Eoin Devenney (2 frees) and a Cian Mahony point saw the sides go in level on a scoreline of 2-3 to 0-9.
The second half saw both sides battle for dominance and trade scores throughout, with a Seanie Malone penalty proving decisive allied to points from Eoin Devenney,Micheal Murray, Sean Neylon, Cian Mahony, Paul Keane & Ralph Whelehan kept the home side at bay to give Miltown two point victory and see them unbeaten so far in this years campaign.
