LGF League Div. 1: Mullingar Shamrocks 1-5 Milltown 3-11.

Playing Milltown has never been easy for Mullingar Shamrocks and this outing on Sunday morning was no different especially for a young and understrength Mullingar Shamrocks side that is in transition mode. Nevertheless, there was plenty of positives to be taken from the game and the score difference might have been far less had Shamrock availed of two very good goal-scoring opportunities created in the first half. There was plenty of good defending and some fine individual performances with Sinead Sweeney and Zara Corroon of the less experienced players  showing the way.  It’s great to see Jodi Aherne back from the rugby fields. And, for Mollie Maguire the morning was a bit special as Mollie made her senior debut for the club. The first of many appearances no doubt.

Mullingar Shamrocks: Katie Kelly, Ella Briody, Siobhán O; Donnell, Rosie O’Grady, Melek Fagan, Mairead Newman, Aideen Langtry, Sinead Sweeney, Jenna Kelly, Zara Corroon (0-1), Karen Hegarty (1-3), Jodi Aherne, Holly McCormack, Sara Geoghegan, Molly Maguire, Alessia Hassett.
