Irish Rugby Honours Mike Walker – IRFU 150th Anniversary Volunteer Recognition

We are incredibly proud to share that our current Honorary Treasurer, Mike Walker, has been recognised by the IRFU as part of their 150th anniversary celebrations, celebrating individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development of rugby across Ireland.

Mike has been selected as one of just 100 volunteers nationwide – up to 25 per province – who will be honoured at a special event at the Aviva Stadium on April 27th, 2025, ahead of the Energia All-Ireland League Finals Day.

Reflecting on the history of the game, the recognition programme gave clubs, schools and provinces the opportunity to highlight the enduring impact of volunteers throughout the generations – individuals whose dedication continues to shape and inspire our rugby communities today.

Mike’s commitment, leadership and tireless work for Killarney RFC over the years has been truly outstanding, and this recognition is thoroughly deserved. 👏👏
