Renvyle GAA will be hosting their first Rian Sheridan 7’s Memorial Tournament on Saturday the 17th of May at 11am. It will be a day of football, friendship and remembrance for Rian, who tragically passed away in March 2024.
Local teams will be taking part as well as two teams traveling down from Kilbride GAA. Rian had transferred to Kilbride GAA in early 2024 so it is lovely to have them joining for this weekend in Rian’s memory.
All funds raised will be donated to the Irish Road Victims Association. IRVA is a non-governmental organisation that provides free information and support to those bereaved or injured by road traffic collisions, and works to reduce dangers on our roads.
Throw in for the tournament is at 11am and will take place between the pitches in Clifden & Letterfrack. The semi-finals & final will take place in Letterfrack followed by music for the evening in Veldon’s Seafarer.
This 7-a-side tournament is a tribute to his love of sport and his incredible spirit. They hope to see plenty of supporters out for the weekend and to raise money for this remarkable charity. If anyone is available to volunteer on this weekend as there is lots to be done, please reach out to any committee members in Renvyle GAA.
