Our U14B side continued their strong run of form with an impressive 5-1 win over St Anthony's at Whitegate this evening.
Rovers got off to a flying start, racing into a 2-0 lead within the first 10 minutes thanks to a quickfire brace from Lukas Araminus, who found the net in the 5th and 7th minutes with two well-taken goals. Despite dominating much of the first half and creating several more chances, Rovers were unable to add to their tally. A defensive mix-up just before half-time resulted in an unfortunate own goal, allowing St Anthony's to pull one back and go in at the break trailing just 2-1.
Credit to St Anthony's, who came out strong in the second half and made it a much more competitive affair. Rovers struggled to convert their opportunities to kill the game off, but the backline remained solid—led superbly by Man of the Match Davi Loboschi, who won every challenge and worked tirelessly throughout.
The turning point came with the re-introduction of Nathan Vickers on the left wing. The left-footer made an immediate impact, scoring twice in as many minutes to give Rovers some breathing room. Casey Brennan then capped things off in stoppage time, continuing his fine form with a well-taken fifth goal to seal a convincing 5-1 victory.
A big thank you to St Anthony's for a competitive and sporting game—we look forward to the return fixture later in the season
