If every opera had this much drama, this much excitement, this many thrills and spills, you'd be able to sell out the Royal Albert Hall 365 days of the year. Somebody scripted this season at Leinster Under 14s and they wont be disappointed with the outcome. It has been an absolute roller coaster of a season.
Two teams who have absolutely gone hammer and tongs at each other all season is Bective / Lansdowne Rugby (BLR) and Blackrock College RFC.
Last week BLR took the spoils and knocked 'Rock out of the Leinster Cup Competition.
On Wednesday night at Malahide RFC grounds at the beautiful Malahide Estuary, 'Rock lifted the Under 14s Metro Cup. As a dress rehearsal for this weekend's Leinster Cup it was a hell of a cup game. (Best of luck and a quick recovery to Luke Hanratty for sacrificing his collar bone in this crunching encounter). FT score was 14-10 to Blackrock RFC. Well done to them.
But dress rehearsals are just that and given the outstanding competition between these two teams all season, its only fair 'Rock take home the Metro.
On Sunday at Donnybrook, BLR will take to the field in the U14s Leinster Schools / Youth Cup. KO 11:45
Congrats and thanks to Leinster Age Grade Coordinator David Crimmons for an excellent and well managed season. Thank you to Paul McGirr for the photos of Wednesday evenings' match.
