U11 Brendan Coyne Cup Champions

A great morning out in the AUL and a massive achievement for the players in their first ever cup final. A nervy enough first half which was understandable with the occasion and a big crowd in attendance. Greystones took the lead midway through the first half with a free kick into the top corner. Both sides had a couple of decent half chances but we went in 1-0 down at the break. We got the equaliser that our general play deserved early in the second half when Ollie Dagg Morans corner was met by Rian Carter who's effort was saved by the keeper but Captain Harry Gibbs was on hand to half volley home. The goal really gave the lads a boost and we got the winner 5 minutes later when great work from Dylan Tighe fed Bowe Kelly who cooly squared it to Ollie Dagg Moran who slotted into the far corner. We had a number of chances to increase our lead but a combination of good goalkeeping and poor finishing led to a nervy finish. The lads held on for a deserved win through pure grit and hard work. Delighted for the boys who's hard work all season has paid off and also have a trip to Barcelona to look forward to in 3 weeks time.
