Last night our Junior Camogie team played their league match in shorts in protest against the Camogie Associations refusal to change an antiquated and archaic rule.

A Gaelic Players’ Association survey published last week revealed that 70% of inter-county camogie players found the skort to be uncomfortable, while 83% believe that the individual player should be allowed to choose between shorts or the skort.

These are survey results from THE PLAYERS themselves. Yet, players don’t have a choice. They’re forced to wear what they’re told.

This isn’t about fashion. It’s not about tradition. It’s about control.

It’s about athletes being forced to sacrifice comfort, performance and even dignity, for an outdated rule written without them in mind.

For too long, women athletes have been told to follow rules that silence their needs and ignore their welfare.

Well done girls 💪💪💪
