Wicklow Rovers U11 Greens travelled to Kilcoole on Tuesday evening for an entertaining encounter with St Anthony’s. Under clear skies and before a good crowd, both teams delivered a spirited and skilful performance that kept everyone engaged until the final whistle.

St Anthony’s got off to a strong start, capitalising on early pressure to take a 3-0 lead within the first fifteen minutes. But Rovers showed great determination and resilience, refusing to let their heads drop. With some clever passing and committed team play, they fought their way back into the match. Their efforts paid off with two well-worked goals of their own, and they were pushing for a third before the half-time whistle, with the score at 3-2.

The second half was tightly contested, with both sides showing excellent defensive organisation and flashes of attacking flair. Wicklow Rovers continued to press and were rewarded with another goal, but St.Anthony’s matched it with one of their own, sealing a narrow 4-3 win. Despite the result, Wicklow Rovers can be proud of their performance. They battled back bravely after a tough start, played with heart and teamwork, and showed the kind of attitude that bodes well for the rest of the season. It was a great game of football, played in the right spirit by both sides
