Mid week Adult Hurling Update- Gene Griffin
In beautiful sunshine conditions both adult hurling teams secured mid week victories. The first team travelled to St Brigids in Blanchardstown on Wednesday and secured a 4-12 to 1-11 victory.
The second team had a home fixture v Na Fianna on the following evening. The back line were solid early on with Johnny O Flaherty and Dara Callinan averting a lot of danger. The return of Ronan Markey from injury also provided a good attacking outlet for St Finians in the forwards. St Finians had a good half time lead but early 2nd half scores brought Na Fianna back into the match. St Finians settled again and the forwards upped their game to get the necessary scores to seal the win. Highlights of the 2nd half were a goal from a Pat Fox like finish by fellow Tipperary man Ollie Delaney on his club debut and a long range point from downtown by Barry Kavanagh.
Best of luck to team captain Dave Kelleher in his recovery from a serious injury picked up in the previous league encounter which unfortunately will rule him out of action for a while.
All support appreciated for the matches in the coming days
First team v St Marks - Sunday 18th May @ Ridgewood @ 11am
Second Team v Castleknock Monday 19th May @ Somerton @ 715pm
