What a day! Despite a bit of rain, Saturday, 14th June will be remembered as one of the most special days in our club’s calendar – full of fun, teamwork, and community spirit. And none of it would have been possible without the incredible volunteers who gave their time, energy, and heart to make it happen.

To everyone who helped with the early morning set-up, thank you for laying the groundwork – quite literally – for a smooth and successful event. Your efforts behind the scenes ensured everything was ready to go before the first car/bus pulled in.

Speaking of which – a big thank you to our car park crew, who directed traffic with a smile and kept everything running safely and efficiently. You made a great first impression for everyone arriving on the day.

On the pitches, our match coordinators kept the schedule moving like clockwork, managing teams, timings, and transitions – a job that requires real focus and flexibility, and you delivered on both.

A huge thanks to the post-event tidy-up team – the unsung heroes who stayed behind when the crowds had left. Your hard work ensures our grounds are always left in great shape and ready for the next occasion.

To the wonderful staff in the coffee shop – thank you for keeping everyone warm, fuelled, and smiling throughout the day. In true Irish fashion, the rain only made the tea and coffee more welcome!

A special shout-out goes to our bar staff and everyone who sold raffle and lotto tickets – especially our amazing junior members. Your enthusiasm and energy helped create a brilliant atmosphere and raised vital funds for the club.

We’d also like to recognise the work of our two pros behind the cameras and phones who spent the entire day capturing memories. Your photos and videos help us relive the spirit of the event and share it with those who couldn’t be there. Thank you for your talent, patience, and creative eye!

To our tireless organising committee, especially Claire and Lorraine – thank you for your planning, leadership, and dedication. You steered the ship beautifully and made sure nothing was left to chance.

A standout moment of the day was the pre-game warm-up, featuring none other than the Simonstown Dinosaur and friends, who danced, cheered, and raised spirits across the field – rain and all! You set the tone with joy, energy, and just the right amount of mischief. Thank you!

And last, but by no means least, to the beating heart of the day – our incredible Mothers and Others team, along with their brilliant managers. Your enthusiasm, positivity, and team spirit were at the centre of it all. Quite simply, the day would not have happened without you.

On behalf of the club, thank you to every single volunteer, participant, and supporter. Your effort, generosity, and community spirit made the day truly special.

Here’s to many more days like this – together
