Ladies football v Athlone
Our adult ladies footballers completed their Division 5 League campaign with a 2-9 to 4-13 defeat to Athlone at a wet and windy MJS Builds St James’ Park last Friday evening.
Despite being understrength, the girls battled hard and were arguably the better team in the second half. They enjoyed a bonding trip on Saturday as the focus now switches to the start of the Junior Championship next month.

U11 Croke Park Experience Day
Our U11 boys had a day they will never forget when they got to grace the hallowed turf of Croke Park last week.
Organised by Leinster GAA and Croke Park, the day included a tour of the iconic stadium and Go Games against teams from other counties. It was an amazing experience for all the players, coaches and parents who made the trip.
Lotto
Last week’s lucky numbers were 4, 5, 19 and 25. The jackpot wasn’t won. The Match 3 winners were Glenn Cunningham, Henry Whitson, and Louise and Mary c/o Londis Kilbeggan.
The jackpot has been capped at €15,000 until it is won again. Make sure to buy your tickets online or at Centra, Mace and Whelan’s. Thank you for your continued support.
Sympathy
Deepest sympathy is extended to club stalwart Tommie Carberry on the death of his sister Mary last week.
Late of Brosna Court, Kilbeggan, Mary was predeceased by her parents Tom and Margaret in recent months. We also offer our condolences to the family of Jim Ryan, Killavalley, Tyrrellspass, who also passed away last week. A noted footballer with St Mary’s, Rochfortbridge in his youth, Jim’s son Theo played underage football with us in the late 1980s.
