Sympathy
Kiladangan GAA Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former hurlers and dedicated supporters, Willie Connors (Senior) and Pat Seymour.
Willie was a stylish and pacy forward who lined out for Kiladangan throughout the 1980s. He played corner forward on the Kiladangan Intermediate team that won the league title in 1989. Always willing to lend a hand, Willie remained actively involved with the club beyond his playing days. He was a valued member of the backroom team for the All-Ireland Intermediate winning side in 2005, where he looked after water duties alongside Johnny Gleeson.
A passionate supporter, Willie was a familiar face at Kiladangan matches across all grades—from juvenile to senior. He took immense pride in the club’s progress and especially cherished the County Senior title victories in 2020 and 2023. A strong supporter of camogie, he followed our Junior team closely over the years. During his time working with Procter & Gamble, he also enjoyed helping out with their successful inter-firm teams and took a keen interest in the fortunes of the local school teams, particularly during his time at Carrig NS.
Willie took great pride in seeing his nieces and nephews wear the blue and gold of both Kiladangan and Tipperary. He was a beloved figure within the club, especially among our hurling and camogie players, who valued his post-match chats and friendly presence.
Pat Seymour was a dominant presence in defence during the 1980s. He played full back on the Kiladangan minor team that won the North Minor ‘B’ title in 1982 and held the same position on the 1983 side that narrowly missed out on retaining the title. Like Willie, Pat remained a loyal supporter of the club and was ever-present to cheer on Kiladangan teams in action.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.
