In a landmark moment for Manortown United Football Club, soccer player Amelia Dowling has made history by becoming the first-ever female recipient of Manortown’s prestigious Club Player of the Year award at our recent awards presentation in the PME Community Centre.

Amelia has been with Manortown for many years, starting out at our Under 8 level and now playing for our Under 13’s Girls.  Last season she helped lead her team to league success.  Amelia’s 2024-25 season was nothing short of extraordinary.  Playing as a midfielder, it’s hard not to be impressed by her vision, composure on the ball and her leadership on the pitch.

Her commitment, her dedication, her attitude, her sportsmanship, her good humour, her work ethic, her skill and her ability is what truly sets her apart.  The Club Player of the Year award has been presented annually for over 50 years, and this year Amelia’s win breaks tradition, and some glass ceilings, along the way.

Congratulations to Amelia.  A trophy well deserved.
