U10.5 Cup success in Saval whilst u9s impress in Mini All Ireland
Our U10.5 boys travelled to Saval this morning to compete in their annual blitz.
They opened the tournament with a convincing win over Saval ogs, which was followed up by a strong win against local rivals Carrickcruppen.
Their final group game saw them narrowly defeated by a strong Ballyholland team.
Despite that defeat, they were entered into the cup competition .
The semi-final saw them facing a very strong Rostrevor team . The game finished 1-4 to 1-4, with Dromintee eventually getting the upper hand in extra time .
A quick turnaround in the final against our strongly fancied hosts Saval, but Dromintee started on the front foot with 2 early goals, and despite a late rally , they held on for the win.
A massive congratulations to all the boys finishing the season in the best possible way winning the Cup after impressive performances in blitzes across all of September.
U9 St.Judes blitz
Later in the afternoon, Our U9 boys travelled to Dublin for the annual St.Judes Mini All Ireland U9 blitz.
Three impressive wins in the group against strong opposition Eire og from Ennis, Kilcock from Kildare and Palatine from Carlow set up a quarter final against Ballyboden St.Endas. A fantastic display saw the boys victorious 28 - 12.
In the semi-final, they came up against a very strong Donabate side, and despite some excellent football and enormous effort, the boys came up short.
Despite the disappointment, all the boys had a great day out and have done all their coaches and the club proud. Special mention to the four u8.5 lads who stepped up to ensure we had enough to compete in such a prestigious tournament.
The U10.5 coaching team would like to thank all the parents for their support throughout the year. Both the boys and girls have made massive strides all season, and we have certainly enjoyed coaching them.
