"It was championship quarter final day for the under 16 hurlers in Rivervalley on Saturday against Dwyers from Balbriggan in what turned out to be a well contested North Dublin derby.

Dwyers started stronger but St Finians had a good 2nd quarter and a goal before half time saw St Finians lead on 1-7 to 0-5 half-time scoreline.

Two  early 2nd half  points from Dwyers narrowed the margin. A goal for St Finians  looked like a pivotal score but  Dwyers immediately replied with a goal meaning the outcome was very much back in the melting pot again.

However, a flurry of points by St Finians in the closing stages saw them push on to win a 2-17 to 1-12 scoreline. All roads now lead to Kilbarrack on the 1st November for a championship semi final clash v Naomh Barrog"
