Junior Championship KO Promotion
Well, our fate has finally been sealed with a defeat to Éire Óg on Sunday, and as a result, we will remain in the Junior ranks for 2026. While the game was a tense close affair, it remained in the balance until the eighteenth minute of the second half when, having scored a huge two pointer to go one in front, we almost immediately conceded a goal. From here, we were deflated, and Na Mullaí pushed on for a four point win. Following the game, the current Manager, Mickey McMahon announced that he would not be seeking another term in 2026. The Club Executive cannot compliment Mickey and his management enough for their efforts through this year and last. His commitment to training and games has been admirable, given the travelling involved. Mickey is a true Seans Club person, and this void will be difficult to fill, but we wish him well and know that he will still be attending games. A side note on our game at the weekend, we would like to compliment the Killeevan Club on their hosting of our match. Their grounds and pitch are an absolute credit to them, and they deserve all the praise they get.

The Late Nudie Hughes
The Seans Club would like to pay a small tribute to the late Nudie Hughes, who passed away this week. An icon of his time in Gaelic circles, Nudie was known countrywide. His involvement with the Seans began in the early 2000’s when he managed our senior team. His drive and enthusiasm nurtured a squad of players to believe they could be the best and their reward was and intermediate title in 2002 and senior football for the first time in clubs history the following year. His likes only appear once in a generation, and we have been lucky enough to have played a small part in his GAA story. The impact and influence he conferred was such that words cannot do it justice, but it is evident by the many friends he made on that journey. Friendships that continued long after his work was done with our Club. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís.

 Club AGM
Our Club AGM has now been scheduled for Sunday November 30th at 3pm. Nomination papers will now be circulated to the membership by email. All nomination papers should be returned no later than Sunday, 9th November. Anybody having difficulty accessing the online forms, please contact any committee member for assistance.

Christmas Party
The Seans Club, in conjunction with funding received from Monaghan County Council, would like to announce our Seniors Christmas Party on Saturday 29th Nov. from 3pm to 6pm. This party is for all the friends of the parish, over 65 or there abouts, for an evening of good food , music, dancing and a quick game of bingo. This is a new departure for the club, and they are anxious to make a success of it. We would like all those interested in to reply by text or call to 0863751459 by the 24th Nov. We hope to see you there to jingle and mingle.
