Our U16's headed west of the Shannon on Sunday 9th. Ennis hosted us in a very busy Lees Road Sports Complex. Ennis were always a formidable foe and today was no different. The would be the first to put an unconverted try on the scoreboard within a few mins of kick off. This would be followed five minutes later by a well executed pass and sprint down the line to put Ennis ahead by 12-0. Ennis would get a penalty after 13mins and thankfully this glanced off the upright to be gathered by Thurles  and sent back into their 22 for a line out by a strong kick from Charlie. At the 23rd minute a well worked set of phases and a lot of grit finally put Thurles on the board with Charlie Long going over and Victor putting the conversion centre of the posts but this would be answered by a try from Ennis at the half time whistle
The second half kicked off and Ennis soon after kicking a penalty to go 20-7. After 17mins Liam Burke took a hard knock and have to go off. Despite some hard defending the Ennis side had spotted the gaps and went unanswered for the rest of the game with a final score of 41-7. Alot to think about for our U16 squad as we face Clanwilliam next.
Thanks to Ennis for hosting on the day and we wish them well. Liam's injury will take some time to heal but we wish him well in his recovery.
