The under 16 hurlers contested the championship final on Saturday afternoon in poor weather conditions. The opposition was Thomas Davis from Tallaght and St Finians had home advantage at the all weather pitch in River Valley.
Thomas Davis settled better than St Finians in the early stages and a goal gave them a 1st half lead that St Finians were never able to fully claw back. At half time St Finians were still in contention trailing by 2 points on a 1-6 to 0-7 scoreline.
However, playing into the breeze in the 2nd half it was difficult to convert play into scores and it was Thomas Davis got the key score of the game with a goal. St Finians battled bravely to the end but just couldn't breach the strong Thomas Davis defence for the goals that were required. Final scoreline 2-11 to 10 in favour of Thomas Davis. Congratulations to Thomas Davis.
This concluded the season for the lads who gave some great hurling throughout the championship campaign in very exciting matches. A well deserved break now but looking forward to the 2026 season!
