This Saturday our Senior Hurlers will take on the Laois Intermediate Hurling champions Clonad GAA in the Leinster Junior Hurling Championship semi-final. Unfortunately St. Conleths Park is not available to host the fixture and today it was announced that the match has been moved to Hawkfield with the throw-in scheduled for 1.30pm.
Clonad got the better of Mountrath in the Laois Intermediate Hurling Championship final. It was a first championship title since their last senior win back in 1992 in what was their first final appearance since 2015. They then accounted for the Dublin champions in a Leinster Quarter Final away fixture at St. Kevins by 0-19 to 0-16.
Meanwhile Clane had a tough away fixture of their own in the Leinster Quarter Final up in Dowdallshill outside Dundalk recording a seven point win over Louth champions Naomh Moninne in what was a superb team performance. Clane had to battle from a point down at the break to win by 7. Click here to read the match report from the Kildare Nationalist. Club PRO and Communications Officer Robert Cribbin caught up with manager Willie Banks and senior players Sean Christanseen and Simon Healy earlier this week as they look forward to the fixture this weekend. Click on their names above to watch the interviews on our Facebook.
We hope to see a big Clane crowd in Hawkfield to support the team and management. Wear your club colours and cheer on the lads.
Extra Time and Winner on the Day rules apply.
