Bunbrosna GAA Notes 7/12/25

It was with great sadness that we learned on Friday of the passing of one of our great supporters and friends, Ollie Crum, Mullingar and late of Lacken.

Ollie was a huge supporter of our club for many many years. He was a loyal follower of the team and enjoyed the great days that were shared in County Final wins right up to the latest developments of the facilities. 

While it is easy to support on the good days, Ollie was one of a kind. On the days when results didn’t go to plan, he was on hand to offer words of encouragement to the players and would have an arm around the shoulder or a pat on the back to lift the spirits.

Ollie had a strong interest in music and was also a huge supporter of Scór in our Club. He will no doubt be smiling and cheering on our latest Scór na nÓg Leinster Champions from above the clouds this weekend.

All at Bunbrosna wish to offer our sincere condolences to Ollie’s family. To his daughter Dervila, sons Brian and John, his partner Frances his relatives and a large circle of friends, we offer you all our deepest sympathies at this sad time!

Congratulations our Bunbrosna Scor Set Dancers who have won the Leinster Scór na nÓg title on Sunday evening after a brilliant performance.

Well done to Clodagh Dodrill, Sarah Tyrrell, Aoife Dunleavy, Ciara Carey, Isabelle Maher, Anna Dunleavy, Katie Tyrrell, Kate Reynolds & Siun Halpin Murphy. We are so proud of you. Well done to the coaches and all the travelling supporters. 

Preparations for the All Ireland Final in January will commence and we hope to get a large turn out of support for it. Keep an eye on our social pages for more details.

Club Lotto will take place next Sunday at 12:00pm in the Old Dressing Rooms for anyone that would like to attend. Our Lotto Jackpot is now at €4,100. It continues to be our primary source of revenue to fund the day to day running of the club.

In 2026,  Bunbrosna GAA will celebrate 125 years since the foundation of the club. This will be marked with a number of events throughout 2026 and we will keep you updated on same.

To mark our 125th Anniversary next year, we are delighted to release our commemorative 125 year jersey, available to buy online at KC Sports. As well as embarking on the next stage of our development, we will hold a number of events next year to mark this significant milestone.

Congratulations to Beibhinn Ni Gabhainn who placed in the top 10 in Ireland in Applied Technology in the Junior Cycle Exams! Well done Beibhinn.

Congratulations to Rosie McDermott on her star turn on the Late Late Toy Show on Friday night! Rosie is the daughter of Laura and Dan McDermott, who is our senior men's team manager.

Social Walk continues on at the Walking Track in Bun every Wednesday at 7:30pm. All ages and fitness levels are welcome to attend. 

Grounds Crew meet every Tuesday at 10:30am in Bun for a cup of tea and to do some work around the pitch - all welcome!
