The weekend just gone brought some very sad news to our Parish with the very sad passing of Louise Lynch.

Louise Lynch (nee Shannon), a Corofin woman originally, married John Lynch and moved to Sixmilebridge in the 90s and it is safe to say that the Bridge community was most certainly the better off for her arrival. Having 5 children, Aine, Sean, Catriona, Cathal and Siobhan they  were involved in everything in the community. John played at all levels with the hurling club and coached and managed teams as well as serving as Minor Club Chairman. Aine, Catriona and Siobhan all played Camogie with Sixmilebridge and Siobhan is currently PRO with the Minor hurling club. Sean and Cathal have also played at all levels with the club and currently are coaching the U13 hurlers. Louise herself served on the Minor club Fundraising committee for a number of years and was always available for Teas, Coffees when needed but is probably best known for her fervent suport of Bridge teams down through the years.

For anyone that knew Louise they would know that she had a certain kind of energy that very few possess. The type of energy that endeared herself to anyone that met her. She was helpful in every way to everyone she was in contact with. Whether that be in and around the club, village or at St. Caimins Secondary school in Shannon where she worked for over 40 years. How many children attended Caimins in Shannon and their parents would say 'if theres anything wrong call into Louise in the office and she will help you'. This illustrated how much trust and how much regard people had for Louise. And indeed there was many the problem solved or injury treated or follow up calls made by Louise whenever any issue arose.

In recent years the proud mother and grandmother would have been seen walking her little dog around the village and stopping for chats with everyone along the way! A 5 minute conversation would get through an hours worth of subject matter!

Louise will be deeply missed by all in the community and as a mark of respect there will no club activities on Wednesday next and there will be a Guard of Honour by the Hurling Club and the Camogie Club on Wednesday evening outside the funeral home in the Square in Sixmilebridge.

Condolences to Louise's family and friends - Ar dheis dé go raibh a hanam.
