Meath's U20 hurlers rounded off a great weekend for the Royal County with a brilliant victory over Antrim on Sunday afternoon.

After our minor hurlers had upset Kildare in the opening round of the Leinster Championship just 24 hours earlier, the pressure was on the U20's to deliver a similar performance, and deliver they did!

The team played incredibly well  throughout the hour and thoroughly deserved their win.

Huge credit to Longwood's Brian Stagg and Conor Dixon - two fine young hurlers for club and county and both with bright futures ahead of them.

Brian captained the Meath team yesterday and delivered a captain's performance.   Despite picking up an early yellow card, which was very harsh, Brian showed great composure for the remainder of the game and, along with his team mates, put the shackles on a potent Antrim forward line.

A great start to the Leinster championship for Crash Corrigan's charges - next up is a battle with Carlow!

Huge credit to Kilmessan Hurling Club for hosting the game.  The pitch looked fantastic and the traffic management was excellent.
