As flagged in the February Executive update, the Club's vintage tractor is now up for sale.  It is a vintage 1960 Massey Ferguson 35, with an additional rear low loader.  It is in very good motoring order and is in excellent condition. As set out, it is initially offered to Club members (see below) to bid in and become the proud owner of this piece of history.  If the Club's reserve price is not achieved by 01 May, it will then be open to the public and non-members to bid in and purchase it.  The club reserves the rights (post member auction) to advertise the tractor for sale on publicly accessible trading platforms such as 'Done Deal'.

It will be available to view in the Club Shed for the next two weeks, specifically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and the middle Saturday (14th, 15th, 18th, 21st, 22nd April) between 10am and 1159am or by strictly prior arrangement outside of those hours.

Auction Terms
  • View it as above or by strict appointment basis
  • Available to members only (Full and OAP as of 31 March) from 10 April until 01 May 2026.
  • The tractor is sold "as is" and no warranty is provided by the club
  • The club must receive the full payment before the tractor is released by the club and taken away by the buyer.
  • Submit a bid between 0900 16 April and before 2359 30 April 2026.
  • Submit a bid via email only to secretary.simonstown.meath@gaa.ie
  • No conditional bids can be accepted.
  • Bids will be viewed and determined by the Secretary and two other elected club officers.
  • Bids must include the exact bid in euro (and cent) and the name of the bidder (member).
  • If the reserve price is not reached by 2359 30 April 2026, it will be sold via public auction on DoneDeal or similar.
  • If the reserve price is reached by one bidder, it is theirs and they will be notified via email from the Club Secretary.
  • If the reserve price is reached by a number of bidders, the bidder that submitted the highest bid wins and this will be notified via email from the Club Secretary.
  • In the event of bidders surpassing the reserved price and having submitted the exact same bid (down to cents), such bidders will be asked to submit within 48 hours (2359 02 May) a 'best and final offer' via email to the Club Secretary. The 'best and final offer' process will be repeated until a clear winner is achieved.  As with earlier bids, two additional elected club officers shall view and determine the submitted final bids.

The Club reserves the right to amend these terms on the proviso that such changes are communicated via ClubZap on/before the bid window opens (16 April at 0900).

Best of luck to those interested.
