26Apr2026 - It was a great day for the future of hurling in St. Brendan’s as the u10 boys - and friends - visited Parnell Park this afternoon to cheer on the senior men’s side, who dutifully put their Kildare counterparts to the sword (hurl?) in the second game of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship.

For many of the boys, it was their first time seeing a live hurling match, or at least one they weren’t playing in, and I think it’s safe to say they made the most of their match day experience!

Arriving early enough to secure prime viewing spots on the terrace (no stand tickets left, sorry parents!), they kept a keen interest in the warm-up, before taking to the task of cheering on the Dubs with gusto for the duration of the match.  Once the final whistle went, they jumped at the chance to get on the hallowed turf with their hurls for a puck about and a contest to get as many Dublin player autographs as possible (which we think Alex Dalton or Jacob Snee won).

Prizes for attendance were dished out after the match at the donut kiosk on O’Connell Street. A return visit to Parnell Park to see the hurlers against Kilkenny at the end of May is on the cards for the group - hope to see you there!! @fodhc.ie
