Great Limerick Run
From the roads and fields around Bruree, a strong group travel into Limerick this weekend to take on distances that don’t flatter or forgive. The marathon alone—42.2 kilometres of it—has humbled better men than most, and yet Sam Williams stands ready for it, with Ger O’Dea once again answering that same long call.

In the half marathon, Noel Crowley and Mark Fitzgerald will meet a different test, but no less demanding. It’s a race that asks hard questions late on, when the legs are gone and the finish still feels a long way off. And over the 10km, Tommy O’Brien, Anthony O’Shea, Annie O’Dea, Jenny O’Brien, Marge Crowley, Megan Fay, Eimear Daly, Niamh Kelleher, Elaine O’Shea, Rebecca O’Shea and Christine O’Shea will bring their own brand of urgency to proceedings—shorter, sharper, but no place to hide.

They won’t be alone, of course. There are always others—clubmates, neighbours, familiar faces in the crowd—each carrying a bit of home with them as they make their way through the streets of Limerick.

By the time the race settles, the noise will fade and it will come down to something simple: the will to keep moving forward. That’s where these things are decided.

From everyone watching on, there’s nothing but respect for those willing to take it on. Best of luck to all from Bruree lining out this weekend—may the road be kind, and the finish well earned.

Intermediate Hurling
Bruree edged out Cappamore in a tightly contested Round 3 clash of the All County League, securing a narrow 1-18 to 0-20 victory. In a game that stayed in the balance throughout, Bruree’s crucial goal proved the difference, giving them just enough breathing room against a determined Cappamore side. Both teams showed plenty of quality, but Bruree’s composure in the closing stages saw them hold on for a hard-earned win.

Junior B Hurling
Bruree were narrowly defeated by Glenroe on a scoreline of 1-17 to 1-16 in a tightly contested match last night. Bruree battled hard throughout and showed determination despite being down a number of players, but Glenroe edged ahead in the closing stages to secure the win.
