At an exciting time for Meath GAA, and in partnership with Leinster GAA, we are delighted to announce that we are recruiting two full time Games Development Coordinators (GDCs) to oversee football development in County Meath and to further strengthen our outstanding full-time development team.

The successful candidates will report to Meath Head of Games, Christine O’Brien, and will work closely with Football Academy Head Coach, Paul Garrigan, to plan and deliver football development programmes across our clubs, second-level schools and academy structures.

These roles will involve directly supporting clubs and volunteer coaches through Meath GAA’s club football pathway programme, helping to develop future footballers across the county through our club network, the Meath football curriculum and club pathway plans.

Meath GAA is also rolling out enhanced supports for second-level schools. The successful candidates, alongside our existing staff, will help provide coach support and football development planning within schools. In addition, they will work within our academy system to help our volunteer county coaching teams in delivering programmes for our underage footballers. The role will also include other duties on behalf of Meath GAA as required.

  • The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Gaelic football, particularly in coaching and/or football development.
  • The role may also appeal to someone currently working in another field who is seeking a greater sense of purpose and connection through a professional role in Meath football development. A connection to GAA in Meath is not essential, but it will help.
  • Candidates must have a full driving licence and access to their own car, as the role involves delivering supports to clubs and schools throughout the county.
  • As Meath GAA is a volunteer-led sporting organisation, evening and weekend work will form part of the role.

We would greatly appreciate the support of Meath GAA clubs and supporters in sharing this opportunity through social media, media and WhatsApp groups.

Candidates interested in the role should send a cover email and Curriculum Vitae tochairperson.football.meath@gaa.ie or christine.obrien.chg.meath@gaa.ie orpaul.garrigan.meath@gaa.ie no later than Friday, 15 May 2026 but preferably before.

If you would like to discuss the role first please email chairperson.football.meath@gaa.ie with your phone number and details.
