The U15 St. Finians girls team made history by bringing a camogie Feile back to Rivervalley for the first time in the clubs history.
Anyone out in Abbotstown for the final or at Faughs host ground the day before saw girls put their bodies on the line for the maroon and white jersey of St. Finians.
Over 5 matches the girls showed some brilliant stickwork, a few kicked goals as well as unbelievable courage to overcome stiff challenge from Faughs, Brigids, Barrogs, Judes on Sat and Brigids again on Sunday to win the competition.
When the final whistle blew in Abbotstown, the whole squad sprinted out, the (non-alcoholic) bubbles sprayed and there was tears of joy amongst the girls 😄

This was a team that had grafted for 18 months without success so the joy of winning their first game fueled their determination to win again and they took huge motivation into each game.
When Robyn Coakley (c) accepted the trophy on behalf of the whole panel there was huge celebrations by all.

Many helped in so many ways in the lead up to weekend.

Special thanks to Dave, Niamh, Jen, Jules and Alannah and particularly the enormous influence of Kieran Ryan and his calm delivery of the team talks. They all deserve enormous respect and thanks for taking on the girls since the start of the year. Thanks also to Colin Brennan for having the girls primed for throw-in and to Karl Kavanagh and his u14 girls that made a HUGE impact contributing significantly to the team. Thanks to all the mothers (and Mr. T) that worked tirelessly on all the arrangements made for the girls.

Thanks to all the parents and supporters that travelled/brought their girls to training and matches and shouted support throughout the games. The girls couldn't have done it without you all.

Across camogie and football Feile the girls received great support from sponsors with the Carlton Hotel, Lidl, Keelings and Peacocks all contributing to the teams.

One team on the pitch, one club behind them… Finians Abú! ❤️🤍
