U16 FOOTBALL WINNERS
Our U16 St. Edwards footballers took on St. Laurence’s in the Division 4 Final on Thursday evening in Rathcoffey. After a blistering start from St. Laurence’s, who raced into an early lead of 1-1, Edwards gradually settled into their stride. A brace of goal chances were brilliantly denied by the opposition goalkeeper, but strong performances across the pitch saw Edwards battle back and edge in front by half-time.
The second half saw another rally from St. Laurence’s, but Edwards dug deep, from a solid backline through midfield and up to the forwards, the game finished with a score of St. Edwards: 3-12 to St. Laurences: 1-12. It marked the first time this team had come out on top after several meetings with St. Laurence’s. A well deserved win!
