Dicksboro GAA & Camogie Club was delighted recently to present cheques to the beneficiaries and prize winners arising from the hugely successful Dicksboro’s Fittest Superstars fundraiser.
As part of the club’s commitment to giving back to the wider community, donations of €5,000 were presented to our two chosen charity partners, Cois Nore and Samaritans Kilkenny. Both organisations carry out outstanding work within our community, providing invaluable support to individuals and families across Kilkenny. We are proud that our fundraiser was able to make a meaningful contribution towards their continued efforts.
The club was also delighted to present a donation of €500 to Community Radio Kilkenny City in recognition of the exceptional support provided by the station throughout the campaign. Liam Kelly O’Rourke, Barry and the entire CRKC team played a huge role in helping us promote the event, engage with the wider community and contribute to what became the most successful fundraising initiative in our club’s history.
Congratulations also to Alex Deegan, winner of our grand raffle prize of €1,000 spending money and two All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final tickets. Alex recently received his €1,000 cheque, with the All-Ireland tickets to follow closer to the final.
The success of Dicksboro’s Fittest Superstars was only possible because of the incredible efforts of so many people. We would like to sincerely thank every participant, sponsor, volunteer, donor and supporter who contributed in any way to the event. The response from the community exceeded all expectations and helped create a day that will be remembered in the club for many years to come.
A special word of appreciation must go to the Dicksboro’s Fittest Superstars Committee, whose dedication, commitment and countless hours of work brought the event from an idea to a reality. Their attention to detail, enthusiasm and determination ensured that every aspect of the fundraiser was delivered to the highest standard.

We also acknowledge the tremendous support and guidance provided by Davy Fitzgerald and his team, Darren, Caimin, Declan and everyone involved in the Fittest Superstars concept. Their professionalism, energy and willingness to help at every stage of the journey were instrumental in the event’s success.
Together, we raised over €100,000, welcomed hundreds of participants to Palmerstown, strengthened community bonds and created memories that will last a lifetime. Most importantly, we demonstrated what can be achieved when an entire club community comes together behind a common goal.
