Congratulations!
Warmest congratulations to Shane Feane, a lifelong Bruree player, who celebrated his wedding at the weekend — an occasion that brought great pride and joy to all in the club.
Shane has given countless memorable days in a Bruree jersey, but few will ever match the passion and heart he showed on that unforgettable evening of August 21st, 2010. Lining out with the U16s in a fiercely contested County Semi-Final against Crecora/Manister in Athlacca, Shane — still only an under-13 at the time — rose to the occasion in extraordinary fashion. What followed was a display that has long since passed into club folklore.
In a performance defined by sheer will and unrelenting determination, Shane drove his team forward at every turn, famously shattering three hurleys in the heat of battle as he gave everything for the cause. It was a day that captured the very spirit of Bruree GAA — courage, commitment, and an unbreakable bond with the jersey. When the final whistle sounded, Bruree had edged it by the narrowest of margins, 0-11 to 2-4, securing their place in the county final and sparking scenes of pure elation.
That same passion and loyalty Shane has always shown to his club will no doubt carry into this new chapter of his life.
The entire club extends its heartfelt congratulations to Shane and his wife Kathy, wishing them a lifetime filled with happiness, health, and every blessing in the years ahead.
