North Final Winning Set DancersAll roads led to Newport last Sunday where the North Final of Scór na bPáistí took place, Borrisoleigh swept the boards when they won 5 of the 9 competitions on the day and were also crowned North Tipperary club of the year.
Our figure dancers, who danced brilliantly on the day were first to be announced as winners, well done to Caimin Kennedy, Amy Maher, Ella Groome, Aoibhinn Keane, Keelan Chute, Michelle Meehan, Chloe O’ Brien and Anna Meehan.
Eve Maher was then crowned North Champion in the Solo Song competition, a brilliant achievement on what was her first time taking part in this competition.
Next up were our question time team of Conor Kinnane, Aisling Boyle, Michael Ryan and Tara Kennedy, they performed superbly on the day answering a very impressive 23 out of 24 questions to win another title for Borrisoleigh!
Next up was our novelty act team of the Groome cousins, Eamon, Therese, Ella, Daniel, Maria, Joanne, Grace and Jack. The performed the “Big Birthday Bash”, another super performance topped off by another win!
Our set dancers Ella Slattery, Aoibhinn Keane, Tara Fitzgerald, Ella Groome, Alesha Fanning, Therese Groome, Anna Meehan and Amy Maher ably assisted by Phil Maher were the final winners to be announced, to cap off a superb day for Borrisoleigh.
Well done also to our ballad group of Nicole Colgan, Keelan Chute, Cara Young, Aoife Ryan and Ella Slattery and to Emma Jane Ryan in the recitation, who were not winners on the day but competed excellently.
Our chairperson Edel Groome was delighted to accept the Club of the Year cup on behalf the Borrisoleigh club!
The County Final of Scór na bPáistí will take place in Cashel in Sunday 31st March at 2pm
