Eire Og Annacarty/Galtee Rovers 5-8(23) Cashel King Cormacs 4-4(16)

The combo of Eire Og Annacarty Donohill and Galtee Rovers defied the winter elements as well as a dogged Cashel King Cormacs side in this roller-coaster encounter in Cashel last Sunday. After a delayed start due to a torrential hail shower, the game got underway as the combo were off the mark with a pointed free before Cashel had the game's first goal on nine minutes. Eire Og\Galtee hit back quickly in the next attack when Rhys Byron finished to the net after a Cian Mooney run and lay-off. From there on the combo had further points from Eoin Gallagher and Rhys Byron even allowing for another Cashel goal to lead at the interval 1-07 to 2-02. Both sides finished the half fourteen aside. Eire Og\Galtee now facing the elements made light of them by bagging a brace of goals inside the opening eight minutes of the second half through Jack Kingston and an Eoin Gallagher penalty. This gave the combo a cushion that ensured victory as the home side struggled to make headway in the trying conditions, not helped by a heavy hail shower that interrupted the second half for a five to six minute spell. Cashel pulled a couple of goals back, but Eire Og\Galtee put the icing on the cake with a well-taken goal from Evan Breen to ensure the combo emerged winners 5-08 to 4-04 at Sean O'Halloran's full-time whistle. Best for Eire Og\Galtee were Jim Quirke, Robert & Rhys Byron, Evan Breen, Stephen McDonald, Cian Mooney and Eoin Gallagher.
