Well done Lauren ...

Saturday was a special day for our LGF senior goalkeeper Lauren McCormack as she made her goalkeeping debut for the Westmeath senior LGF team against Donegal in Letterkenny in the Lidl Ladies National Football League. It's a great honour for any GAA player to represent one's county so to Lauren we say well done and congratulations. Mullingar Shamrocks, Gemma Leahy guarded the net when Westmeath won their last All-Ireland title in 2010. On Sunday it was back to the local competitions and Mullingar Shamrocks senior LGF made the journey to Milltown for the opening match of the county Div.1 League and Lauren and Karen Hegarty were to the fore despite their efforts on behalf of Westmeath on the previous day. Milltown have lost none of the form of last year and were convincing winners against a Mullingar Shamrocks team that put in a very spirited performance despite the absence of some key players.

Mullingar Shamrocks: Lauren McCormack; Ellen Sleator, Chloe Swarbrigg, Rachel Hannigan; Faye Walsh, Michelle Buckley, Tara Fagan; Anna Jones (1-0), Susanna Buckley (0-1); Casey McDermott, Emma Morris, Laura Whitelaw; Laura Culkin, Karen Hegarty (1-3), Liveta Lazauskaite. Replacements: Isabelle Clinton, Sarah Geoghegan, Katie Kelly, Ciara Morris, Lorna Morris, Holly McCormack.
