Well done to our Senior hurlers who booked their place in the "Hibernian Inn" North Senior Hurling Championship Semi Finals after an excellent and emphatic victory over Roscrea in the Quarter Final last Sunday afternoon in Dolla.
A strong breeze had a big bearing on the game throughout. It was firmly in Roscrea's favour in the first half but the lads dug deep to engineer some excellent scores from Conor Kenny, Kevin Maher and a couple of long range Brendan Maher frees. These along with Jerry Kelly's early goal from play sent us in level 1-09 apiece at the break. With the wind at our backs in the second half the lads outscored Roscrea 0-08 to 0-03 in the opening ten minutes and never looked back. Two late goals from JD Devaney and a second for Jerry Kelly were the icing on the cake as ran out 3-22 to 1-12 winners,
We now face the stiff challenge of Burgess in the Semi Final. This game will take place on Sunday the 22nd of September in MacDonagh Park in Nenagh at 3.30pm. The game will be preceded by the meeting of Kildangan and Templederry Kenyons in the other Semi Final at 2pm. We would like to wish both players and management the very best of luck as we bid to make our second final in three years,
Borris AbĂș!
