Our U12 footballers played Ahane in the U12 B Final last Friday evening in UL under lights. The last time we played them in the group stages, it all ended square so we knew this was going to be close.
Our boys played with the wind in the opening half and they took a grip on the game from the start. There was great control and skill in passing the ball about and we played direct ball into our full forward line who were on fire. We led at half time 2.07 to 1.02. We started well in the second half and scored another two goals which was enough to put the game beyond reach. Ahane did respond with three points and were awarded a penalty only for our goalie Eoin Murphy to pull off a great save. We added another goal to seal the victory and finished out 5.07 to 1.02 winners.
