Ballymackey u12 girls were back in league action today with a home game against cloughjordan. Played in just 2 degrees and with a biting wind credit to both teams for serving up some entertaining football. ballymackey started on the front foot and took the lead early through Olivia Fitzpatrick and soon doubled it through Charlotte Deegan. Cloughjordan dug in and closed down ballymackey at every opportunity, a surging run down the right from niamh Spain after which she produced a cross into the box was finished to the net by Olivia Looby. Just before half time it was four Isabel ryan won the ball in defense and played a pass through to Olivia lobby who rounded two players before scoring. Anna Fitzgerald in defense and Emma o connell in goals had to be alert through the game to ensure ballymackey kept a clean sheet. In the second half lily Kate Kenneally went close to scoring direct from a free kick. Mary Kate Purtill, clodagh Murphy and Madeline England all worked hard and went close to getting on the scoresheet. The only goal of the second half came when ballymackey captain Charlotte Deegan finished a loose ball in the box to the net. Final score 5-0 to ballymackey. Panel Emma o connell, niamh Spain, Anna Fitzgerald, Isabel ryan, Mary Kate Purtill, lily Kate Kenneally, Olivia Fitzpatrick, Olivia Looby, Charlotte Deegan, clodagh Murphy and Madeline England.
