Hard luck to our U-15 footballers who lost to a strong Durlas Og outfit in the Mid final played at Dr. Morris Park this evening. Durlas Og notched the opening two points before Brackens stormed into the game with goals from Dayle Hogan and Sean Walsh. Jack Marnell and Sean Burke added a point apiece to put Brackens 2-2 to 0-3 ahead after fifteen minutes. The boys were on top at this stage and were unlucky not to add two more goals that would have put the squeeze on Thurles. But Durlas Og survived, regrouped and tacked on seven points without reply to lead 0-10 to 2-2 at the short whistle. And when they added a further 1-2 immediately after the break the game was gone from Brackens as a contest as the Thurles boys found their shooting boots to run out 3-21 to 2-6 winners. To their credit the boys never gave up and contested every ball right up to the final whistle. The club would like to thank all the players and management for their efforts thus far as they now turn their attention to the small ball.
