The first XV put on a magic display of running rugby last night in Energia Park Donnybrook against parishioners Old Wesley in the opening round of the Leisnter League. Luke Thompson opened the scoring from a lineout maul to make it 5-0. Conor O'Sullivan passed to Sean Galvin who ran the pitch from inside the Lansdowne 22 to score under the opposition posts to make it 12-0.
Luke Thompson was on fire and the lineout mauls were functioning nicely for him to score again to make it 17-0. Great to see Dan McEvoy score from an intercept try in the corner. Dan as usual in flying form. after the conversion it made it 24-0. Wesley were next to score and barged over for a nice try to make it 24-7.
More second half action with scores by Conor O'Sullivan and Dan McEvoy. Sam Burns also got his name on the score sheet to make it 43-7 at full time. Well done lads. Plenty of entertainment to be provided by this squad in the coming season.
