Clonlara captain and Clare forward John Conlon is eager for his club to go one step further than they did last year and win the county SHC title.

Last year, Clonlara were defeated in the final and it has been a long road back for redemption, but they are just 60 minutes away from redeeming themselves.

They face a Ballyea side that are led by another Clare star Tony Kelly and the scene is set for a huge battle.

“They (finals) are hard get to. They are enjoyable occasions, you just have to see the pride around the parish and the colour,” said Conlon.

“Finals are things to enjoy and anything can happen on a final day. We saw that with Dublin and Mayo; Dublin were overwhelming favourites and Mayo nearly pipped them. It’s going to be a 50-50 game on Sunday and anything can happen.”
