Congratulations to our U12 hurlers who were Shield winners at the annual Eoghan Rua tournament in Dungannon last Saturday. Despite the poor weather and time of year, the team made the long journey on Saturday and had several tough games agains Ballinascreen, St Galls and Cuchullians during the day, before eventually defeating Cuchulainns (Armagh) by 3 points in the Shield final.
This was a fantastic achievement for these players considering that they had no U10 hurlers available. At the end of the tournament Ballygalget captain Michael Dorrian was presented with the trophy.
Well done to all players involved and their management team of Paddy Braniff Senior, Brendan Birt and Declan McManus.
