On behalf of all Simonstown members we extend our sympathy to the McGrath family, Donaghmore Lane, on the sudden death of John.
John is father to Ronan and Cian, two distinguished past players as Simonstown climbed the ranks to senior status and who represented Meath regularly at underage level and in Ronan's case at senior level too. They continue to be active and loyal supporters of the club's activities.
John, a native of Tipperary and a former hurler himself, has had a long association with Royal Tara Golf Club where he was a former captain but always took a keen interest in both Ronan and Cian's football journey with Simonstown Gaels and Meath.
